Tree with Character
I was unfortunately unable to make it to class for the speedpaint, however I spent more than the set hour painting my tree and trying to work on composition and perspective whilst doing so. I wanted to make a tree that was somewhat magical and had a mysterious/ fantasy feel to it, I looked through a lot of reference images for inspiration and then decided that I'd do a tree where the viewer was looking up at the top of it from low down. I chose to do this because I felt that it added to the feel of awe and enchantment and also worked well with the element of perspective and composition. I've included images of the process and changes to background colour etc. too.
