We learned how to colour and blend colours on a caterpillar character design following a guide on Photoshop. We started with a sketched outline which we changed the exposure on and levels until we were left with a slightly lighter than black neat outline that we could colour. We were given colours to use and a reference to follow to block in the main colours. Once this was complete and there was no colour outside the lines of the drawing we went on to block in shadows with a low opacity dark grey colour. Once we'd done this it was time to blend colours to add light and shadows and create a more 3D image. I went on to add a dark outline around the piece again to finish it off, as I thought this would make the image stand out more.
