Life Drawing - Session 14

We had a new model today with a slightly different body shape compared to the previous models. We started with the usual 6 fast drawings and then moved on to focus on light and shade cast on the model. We were asked to draw what shade we saw on the model first off and I was fairly content with the piece I managed to produce. We then closed the blinds in the room and used a red light to cast very light and very dark shadows on the model. I found this fairly difficult as my eyesight isn't fantastic in the dark and just tried as best I could to create the shapes of the model I could make out. The blinds were slightly less closed for the second drawing and I found that this improved the quality of my drawing by a fair amount. We then drew the model with the red light and the blinds up and I was fairly happy with the shadows I managed to create on the model however I realise the proportions were slightly off
